Two traffic control changes on Washington Street

Washington Traffic Control Changes

With the near completion of the Washington Street Mill and Overlay project, a traffic control change has been implemented at two key intersections along the project corridor. The Washington Street and Fifth Street intersection, which previously operated as a minor stop controlled intersection, with vehicles on Fifth Street required to stop has now been converted to an all-way stop control for all legs of the intersection (see graphic).

In addition, a traffic control change has been implemented on the Washington Street and Fourth Street intersection as well. This intersection, which previously operated as an all-way stop control intersection, with vehicles required to stop at all legs of the intersection, has now been converted to a minor stop controlled intersection with vehicles on Fourth Street being required to stop (see graphic).

Both of these traffic control changes were recommended after all-way stop control studies were performed during preliminary design of the Washington Street Mill and Overlay project.
