Growing Local: Northfield Emerging Leaders Program

Our community needs strong, capable, diverse leadership to remain vibrant now and in the future. This program is designed to help emerging leaders be ready to join boards, commissions and committees in our community.

Gain skills and support

  • Build confidence to successfully engage in your local government
  • Gain a network and broaden your connections of common interest.
  • Strengthen your leadership skills and gain new tools to use in your leadership and life.

Participation

This program is for residents in the Northfield area from historically under-represented groups such as people of color, indigenous people, people living with disabilities, LGBTQ+ and others who have not yet actively participated in local boards, commissions or committees but who are interested in exploring future leadership opportunities.

Requirements

  • 18 years or older
  • Be able to speak and read English 
  • Have transportation to and from the sessions
  • Be able to commit to attending all program sessions and related activities

Participants will be paired with an experienced coach for co-learning and networking. 

No fee to participate!

Participants will receive a gift card to help offset costs of some expenses associated with participation in the program.

Dates and location 

All sessions will be held at Northfield City Hall, 801 Washington Street. Sessions are on the first Monday of the month from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. A meal will be provided.

Applying for the program

Application will be accepted October 1 to November 15, 2021. Participates will be notified by December 15, 2021.
