Community Development
The Community Development Department, in cooperation with other City of Northfield departments and divisions, is responsible for the physical, social and economic well being of the city. The history, progress and quality of life in Northfield are of fundamental importance to the department.
Community Development within the City’s structure is comprised of four, interrelated areas of program activity and service. These include Community Development, Planning, Building Inspections, and Housing Services. The skilled staff of the ddepartment are prepared to assist the public in the areas of building and development permits and procedures; business development and expansion assistance; and housing services.
