Licenses
Concessions License Required for the temporary sale of food and beverages. Approval by City Council. (Excludes Defeat of Jesse James Days concessions.)
On-Sale Intoxicating Liquor License Required for the sale of intoxicating liquor for consumption on the licensed premises only. Approval by City Council and Commissioner of Public Safety.
Refuse License Required for transporting garbage or refuse for hire. Approval by City Council.
Club Liquor License Must have at least 50 members and an elected governing body. Limits sales to members and bona fide guests only. Approval by City Council and commissioner of Public safety.
3.2% On-Sale Malt Liquor License Required for the sale of malt liquor containing no more than 3.2 percent alcohol by weight for consumption on the licensed premises only. Approval by City Council.
Taxicab License Required for the conveyance of a passenger for hire upon any street or other public place of the city. Approval by City Council.
Wine Liquor License Issued to restaurants with a minimum seating for at least 30 guests. Permits the sale of wine not exceeding 14 percent alcohol by volume for consumption with the sale of food. Approval by City Council and Commissioner of Public Safety.
Tobacco Sales Required for the retail sale of tobacco. Vending machines not allowed. Approval by City Council.
3.2% Off-Sale Malt Liquor License Required for the sale of malt liquor containing no more than 3.2 percent alcohol by weight for consumption off the licensed premises only. Approval by City Council.
Temporary Liquor License Temporary licenses are available for 3.2 percent malt liquor or on-sale intoxicating liquor. The cost of a temporary license is $350. Approved by the City Council and Commissioner of Public Safety. Typically, temporary licenses can only be obtained by clubs or charitable, religious, or other nonprofit organizations in existence for at least three years.
Fireworks Sales License License required for the sale of legal fireworks with or without other merchandise. Issuance by City Clerk. Applicant must also complete a tax information form and workers compensation certification of compliance form.
Charitable Gambling License Requires City Council and Minnesota Gambling Control Board approval. Fee is $15 per application. http://www.gcb.state.mn.us/
Sunday Liquor License Required to sell on-sale intoxicating liquor between 10am and 12-midnight on Sunday for consumption on the premises. Approval by City Council. The fee for a Sunday Liquor License is $200.
